Saturday afternoon, the second edition of the World Seniors Darts Matchplay gets underway in York. Sixteen players will start at this tournament, with four matches from the first round taking place on Saturday afternoon.

The first match of the tournament is between former Lakeside champion Scott Mitchell and the always-dangerous Paul Hogan. The latter also competed in this event last year, but then Hogan surprisingly went down against Lisa Ashton in the preliminary round. In the second match, Richie Howson and ten-time women's world champion Trina Gulliver face each other.

Deta Hedman faces off with Kevin Painter in the third match of the afternoon following that. Painter was originally scheduled to face Martin Adams, but 'Wolfie' had to withdraw due to personal reasons. Closing out the afternoon will be Leonard Gates and Colin McGarry with the former being imperious this year in winning titles and the latter being one of the most dangerous outsiders to the big name. 'Soulger' v 'The Chief' concludes the session.

Livestream

The World Seniors Darts Matchplay will be televised on TNT Sports (a paid subscription channel) over in the UK. Elsewhere for a fee of £9.99, interested parties can watch the entire weekend via a live stream at www.247.tv/live/darts.

Price money

The World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT), organizer of the World Seniors Darts Matchplay, announced that the winner of the event will receive £10,000.
