The
World Seniors Darts Matchplay concludes on Sunday and as the format goes up to Best of 17, there are only eight players left in the reckoning in Hull.
The main Quarter-Final will see the battle of two rivals once more as Phil Taylor faces Peter Manley. A victory last time they played for 'The Power' but he didn't look at his best against Deta Hedman, albeit 'One Dart' didn't either against John Part.
But he has promised to open up his bag of dark acts against Taylor in what could be an entertaining affair especially after comments from 'The Power' saying he wanted to hit Manley with a shovel.
Another stand-out tie will see two of the most successful players from the BDO/WDF system in years gone by in Martin Adams and Lisa Ashton who will collide in the World Seniors this afternoon.
Adams showed glimmers against Bob Anderson but may be concerned with recent injury problems against Ashton who has been in superb form and could seal another scalp.
As could Colin McGarry who has emerged as a real outside shot to many to seal the title this weekend after seeing off Keith Deller and dismantling Peter Evison with the highest average ever seen in a WSDT TV tournament. He faces the former holder of that statistic, Kevin Painter in what could be a superb tie.
Starting off will be Terry Jenkins facing World Seniors champion, Robert Thornton with both wanting to improve from their openers.
