Turner pleased as amateur darts resumes with JDC Virtual tournament: "It's fantastic to be back"

The JDC Virtual tournament for adults took place in Gibraltar on Wednesday with Laura Turner reaching the last 32.

Turner survived the group stage but was eliminated in the last 32 against Icelandic thrower Rudrick Gudmundsson.

"First one back, it's been a long 14, 15 months for everyone. So it's fantastic to be back," said Turner on JDC Virtual's Facebook page.

"I think the last time I full on did something was the Women's Series that the PDC put on. Then prior to that, it would have been back in March for the Isle of Man Open so I was really nervous. Especially when Steve (Brown) came over and said your first game's on the streaming board and against Dyson Parody as well. Honestly just getting out and playing."

Travelling with family

For Turner, it's a family effort with her husband Aaron of course being a well known darting name himself also being involved.

But in terms of concerns, the World Championship Quarter-Finalist admitted there has to be a balance between safety and living life now.

"It's always a concern but I think going out shopping is a concern. It comes to a point where I think we want to be safe as possible but trying to live your life at the same time. Darts is a massive part of all our lives. It's trying to get back to that normal but just working within the confines of what we can at the moment."
