The BDO has been in financial difficulties for a long time and next Thursday will be an important day. As the end could be nigh for their commercial arm British Darts Organization Enterprises Ltd.

If the bankruptcy does indeed take place, chances are that the last BDO World Championship was played this past January. According to Live Darts, the organization had a loss of £468,000 in it’s last financial year, and that amount would only have risen after last year's three major tournaments.

The current problems apply to BDO Enterprises Ltd. which is the commercial branch of the organization, responsible for their major tournaments such as the World Championship and the World Masters.

The other branch of the BDO, the branch responsible for local and county competitions will continue to exist.
