With the BDO World Darts Championship not taking place this month due to the organisation’s demise, DartsNews looks back at classic moments and matches throughout January from the showpiece event.
Next up is the 1997 edition of the tournament from the Lakeside which saw Les Wallace become the second Scotsman to win the World Championship after Jocky Wilson's prior triumphs.
It also marked the first time a left handed player won either version of the year ending tournament and was the second time in four years that two unseeded players reached the final and remains the latest time this has occurred as he defeated Marshall James in the final.
