Terry Down is considered one of the slowest dart players of all time, especially when compared to today's top players. Down was considered a gifted dart player in the 1980s.
At the 1985 BDO Blackthorn Masters, Down took on Jocky Wilson, who had become world champion at Lakeside in 1981. In this match, Down showed possibly the slowest 180 score ever seen in professional darts. Footage showed Down taking a lot of time to aim the darts before throwing them at the dartboard. The commentator on duty said Down's style is unconventional, but his scoring ability is sensational.
In the end, the experienced Wilson couldn't cope well with Down's slow pace. The latter surprisingly won the match, after which Wilson quickly stormed off the podium.
