For weeks, of course, the chances of
Peter Wright making it to the playoffs of
Premier League Darts were already extremely slim, but as of the next night, it may also become mathematically impossible.
Thursday night the thirteenth round of Premier League Darts will be played in the English city of Liverpool. Four more rounds of play will be completed before the top four players of the league phase qualify for the playoffs at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday, May 23.
After 12 nights, Wright is on just four points. Only in the seventh and ninth weeks of play did Wright manage to win a match. His deficit to a listing in the top four is monentally eighteen points. Players can still earn a maximum of twenty points in the coming weeks.
So Wright will have to win all of the next four nights and also hope that Michael van Gerwen and Nathan Aspinall do not pick up any more points in the coming weeks. On Thursday, Van Gerwen can personally deliver the verdict on 'Snakebite'. The Dutchman and the Scot will face each other in Liverpool.
Aspinall will take on frontrunner Luke Humphries in Liverpool, while teenage sensation Luke Littler is scheduled to face Gerwyn Price. Michael Smith battles Rob Cross for a spot in the semifinals.
