Warren was very impressive in victory over Andy Hamilton which saw him average 92 compared to 95 from his opponent. For the latter despite not getting through, the signs are very much there ahead of Q-School but it was doubling which proved the difference between the two.
Warren began against Hamilton very strong on the scoring alongside Hamilton but he edged the first set on the doubling front to go 1-0 in front.
Hamilton got back into the match having a brilliant turnaround to make it level and his average went up towards 93. Warren though halted that creating some breathing space between the players to go 3-1 up. From there his brilliant display was concluded as he saw off Andy Hamilton to make a second Quarter-Final in three years.
Winstanley defeated Casey Gallagher in a good win for the last year's finalist. The Buxton ace hit high checkouts of 118 and 134 en route and will take on Lisa Ashton in a Quarter-Final to look forward to. She claimed the first set with ease with a 3-0 whitewash; including that brilliant 134 checkout.
Winstanley continued to play well in the next set and after Gallagher missed multiple doubles to put it on level terms, Winstanley would have sensed an opportunity couldn't finish to claim the win and Gallagher sent it to a deciding leg.
Gallagher looked disgusted as she missed a 114 outshot drifting into the four but left herself on 36 with a clutch treble 18 but she couldn't keep the match alive missing one dart at double two and Winstanley took out double 12 first time for the win.
