Rob Cross is the final player through to the semi-finals at the NZ Darts Masters in Hamilton with ‘Voltage’ seeing off local qualifier Ben Robb.
Robb played well throughout but was well beaten due to poor doubles which saw him down at 3/12 (25%). Cross pounced on that to move through in a 8-3 win.
Cross had a great start opening up a 2-0 lead over Robb in the early going. He extended that to 3-0 with a 110 checkout and despite ‘Big Rig’ getting his game going with a 180, he was heading towards a potential whitewash at 4-0 down.
Robb finally got off the mark though at 5-1 down but missed further darts to get a further leg on the board meaning Cross went two away at 6-1 up.
He added another leg at 6-2 behind as he attempted to mount a comeback but once again was stopped in his tracks as Cross went one away.
His progression was halted with Robb adding another leg but he finally sealed the tie 8-3.
