Warren on BDO World Championship trophy being seized: "From this day on, Des and Paula Jacklin are pigs simple as"

Wayne Warren lost out with relative ease to Jarred Cole during the MAD Contender Series Finals with his Global title heading to the rising star.

But afterwards, despite defeat, he had some glowing praise not only for Cole but the future of the amateur system under MAD.

"All the best to the kid, he was brilliant. He bossed me all the way through," said Warren to Online Darts.

"I think MAD Darts is the future, massively. Steve Brown and all those boys, they give me the chance to play in this. I'm going to sit down and think about things, I've got the World Masters, Challenge Tour a lot of things coming up. I've got a busy two months and I think when I get my regular darts back, I will be back to get it back."

BDO World Championship trophy being seized

A story which has been told many a time in the past 18 months has been the BDO and the World Championship trophy fiasco but from glowing praise for MAD, he had some scathing words about former chairman, Des Jacklin and his wife Paula.

"As far as I'm concerned, Des and Paula Jacklin are nil in my life. Simple as but when the police came in to my house, and I had my little boy there, he was six. When he started crying, he was frightened, and ran up the stairs, that’s what hurt me," he continued.

“I’ll tell you this now, from this day on. Des Jacklin, and Paula Jacklin, are pigs. Simple as. They travelled 450 odd from Lincolnshire down to Pontypridd, and they had friends to help them out, to pick the cup from Pontypridd police station.

“This police officer said they’ll keep in touch with me. They never did. The next time I’d seen it, was in his property, on Facebook. That’s what they’re like. Pigs.”

Update on other trophies

He also gave an update from his understanding on the state of the other trophies that were left from the BDO.

"I know for a fact the World Masters is part of our management team (John O'Shea), tried to get it back, he can't. Keane Barry still got his, Mikuru Suzuki she's still got hers. I was never going to keep it, personally it was going to the WDF. To be threatened with the police was pathetic."
