The World Cup of Darts 2019 will take place from 6-9 June in Hamburg. Dartsnews introduces the competing nations ahead of the start of the event.

We are paying attention to Hong Kong, Hungary and Ireland in this article. Ireland is one of the ever presents at this nation tournament, while Hungary and Hong Kong missed respectively one and three editions.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong is part of the field for a sixth time. Royden Lam and Kai Fan Leung form a team for a second year, as they lost in the second round in 2017.
Lam always has been part of the Hong Kong team, while he reached the quarter-finals in 2015 alongside Scott MacKenzie. During the last three editions, Hong Kong lost in the first round on every occasion.

Hungary

Hungary makes his eighth appearance at the World Cup of Darts. Although there will be two inexperienced players on the stage with Janos Vegso and Pal Szekely.
Vegso competed in 2017 before, while Szekely will make his debut. The latter recently made his European Tour debut at the Dutch Darts Masters, where he lost to Raymond van Barneveld in the first round.

William O’Connor is one of the ever presents at the World Cup of Darts. The Irishman compete in all previous editions and makes his ninth appearance. Steve Lennon is part of the team since 2018.
The Irish duo were beaten by Belgium in the first round last year. Only in 2014 Ireland also didn’t got through the opening round. Six times they got defeated in the second round.
