16-year-old Luke Littler throws record average of nearly 118 in MODUS Super Series

English prodigy Luke Littler has once again attracted attention with his unprecedented darts talent. Saturday night he recorded an average of nearly 118 during the final day of the MODUS Super Series.

In the MODUS Super Series, a new competition is played each week. The best six players from the first five days of play met Saturday divided into two pools during the final day of the eighth week of play.

Littler won his pool matches convincingly by defeating Jordan Brooks (4-2) and Harry Ward (4-2). Ward also became a semifinalist by dealing with Brooks (4-3). In the other group, Andy Baetens remained unbeaten with victories over James Richardson (4-1) and Chris Gilliland (4-3). Gilliland did finish second in this pool after a 4-1 win over Richardson.

In the semifinals, Baetens triumphed 4-1 against Ward, while Littler posted that same result against Gilliland. Littler was then unleashed in the final. With an average of 117.88, he outplayed Baetens 4-0. The 16-year-old Littler provided the highest average in the history of the MODUS Super Series.

A MODUS Super Series cycle consists of thirteen weeks. Each week a new competition is completed with a weekly winner emerging. The twelve weekly winners compete in the thirteenth week of play for overall victory in the cycle. This final winner takes the absolute grand prize of 20,000 pounds.
