Devon Petersen takes weekly title in the MODUS Super Series

Devon Petersen emerged victorious in Week 8 of the MODUS Super Series, securing his place in Champions Week after a commanding 4-0 triumph over Andreas Harrysson in Saturday’s final. With this win, the South African star keeps his hopes alive for the overall title and the £25,000 grand prize later in the season.

Path to Glory

The final night of action began with the group stage, where the six remaining players were split into two groups. Richard McKee topped Group A, edging past Graham Usher (4-3) and Jim McEwan (4-2). Usher joined him in the semifinals after seeing off McEwan by the same scoreline.

In Group B, Petersen asserted his dominance from the outset. The African Warrior kicked off the evening with a convincing 4-0 win over Andreas Harrysson, before sealing top spot with a narrow 4-3 victory over Johnny Haines. Despite his earlier defeat to Petersen, Harrysson progressed to the semifinals after dispatching Haines 4-1.

The semifinals saw Harrysson book his place in the final with a 4-2 victory over McKee, while Petersen advanced after overpowering Usher 4-1. In the final, Petersen made no mistake, completing his second 4-0 rout of Harrysson on the night to seal the title.

What is the MODUS Super Series?

The MODUS Super Series is a weekly tournament featuring 12 players battling for a place in the final group, which is contested every Saturday night.

• Group A (Monday – Wednesday): Six players compete in a round-robin format. The group winner advances directly to the final night.
• Group B (Thursday – Friday): The second and third players from Group A are joined by three new competitors. The top three advance to the final night.
• Group C (Thursday – Friday): The fourth, fifth, and sixth-placed players from Group A meet three fresh challengers. The top two advance to the final night.

On Saturday night, the remaining six players compete in two groups of three, followed by semifinals and a final to determine the weekly champion.

After 12 weeks of competition, all weekly winners return for Champions Week, where they battle for the series title and the £25,000 grand prize.
