In the MODUS Super Series, the six participants for the final night of the third week of Series 10 play have been announced. After previously Conan Whitehead came through as Group A winner, through Groups B and C, Charlie Large, Carl Sneyd, Ronan McDonagh, Sam Spivey and Alexander Masek have also qualified.
The MODUS Super Series is a weekly tournament with 12 players competing Monday through Friday for a spot in the final group, which takes place on Saturday night. The player who finishes first after three sessions qualifies directly for the final night on Saturday night. On final night, players compete in a small group stage, followed by semifinals and a final to determine the weekly winner.
The competition begins again the following week, with twelve new players competing for the title. After twelve weeks of competition, all weekly winners compete in "Champions Week," which is played every thirteen weeks of play to determine who wins the series and one with the top prize of £20,000.
Finalists known
Earlier this week Conan Whitehead already won Group A, so he was already sure of a spot on the final night. In Group B, there were still three tickets up for finals night. The group was eventually won by Charlie Large with twelve points. Carl Sneyd also closed on twelve points, but despite a lesser leg balance he too may continue. As did number three Ronan McDonagh, who totaled ten points. For Lee Cocks (four points) and Gary Mawson (two points) the tournament is over.
Finally, in Group C, Sam Spivey emerged as the group winner with fourteen points. In addition to Spivey, the runner-up, Alexander Masek (twelve points) also qualified for the final night. Mike Warburton, Jeremy Fagg, Jamie Kelling and Naill Culleton were eliminated.
