Perfect start for Colin Osborne in MODUS Super Series as Wachiuri makes history for Kenya

Colin Osborne made an excellent start to the sixth week of play in the MODUS Super Series on Monday. On the opening day, 'The Wizard' managed to win all of his five matches.
Osborne consecutively defeated Peter Wachiuri (4-3), Leonard Gates (4-2), Donny Scheurwater (4-3), Barry Copeland (4-3) and Noa-Lynn van Leuven (4-3), putting the Englishman now on top with 10 points.
Behind Osborne follows Barry Copeland in second place with six points. Noa-Lynn van Leuven and Donny Scheurwater are on four points, as is Leonard Gates. Peter Wachiuri is the straggler with two points.
Albeit Wachiuri who is making history as the first Kenyan to compete in the Super Series also made history as the first to win a match in the format. He has travelled all the way from his home country to play in Portsmouth and became a popular figure after his World Championship qualifier against Cameron Carolissen went viral.
What is the MODUS Super Series?
The MODUS Super Series is a weekly tournament with 12 players competing from Monday through Friday for a spot in the final group, which takes place on Saturday night. A week of play begins with six players competing in Group A. They play against each other once each on the first three days of play. The winner of this group is directly through to finals night.
The numbers two and three will enter Group B with three new players. They will play each other on Thursday and Friday, after which the top three of this group may also prepare to participate in the final night. The numbers four, five and six from Group A advance to Group C, where they too will be joined by three other players. Two more players from this group will advance to the final night.
The final night is played on Saturday night starting at 10 p.m. where players compete in a small group stage with two groups of three players, followed by semi-finals and a final to determine the weekly winner. After twelve weeks of competition, all the weekly winners compete in "Champions Week," which is played every thirteen weeks of play to determine who wins the series and takes home the top prize of 25,000 pounds.

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
