As Adrian Lewis prepares for his comeback to the sport at the MODUS Super Series in May, he jested that he may put off his comeback due to the involvement of a certain Phil Taylor potentially in punditry duty.

Lewis stepped away from the game last year losing his Tour Card after deciding to take an indefinite break from the sport. But in reality for 'Jackpot', he was awash with offers to return as he explained with the MODUS Super Series link as the two-time World Champion is now managed by MODUS.
Lewis is a popular figure in the game and him stepping away from the game and then his return were highly clamoured over saying that he is in fact ready now to return in what will be an acid test for any future PDC comeback.
"Jason (Thame) asked me going back last year I think it was and I wasn't quite ready. Now I'm getting there, hopefully setting a date I think it's around May time so looking forward to it. I'm enjoying throwing again in patches, only when I'm playing well," he jested to talkSPORT.
"I think they only want me on there for a bit of friction I think. Hopefully I'll ruffle a few feathers and have a laugh. I think I might wear one of those Peter Wright wigs when I'm playing."
He was asked about Taylor who stated that he turned down Sky Sports due to travelling and would be doing punditry for MODUS on occasion including likely it is presumed when Lewis is pencilled in due to their friendship and rivalry as he joked about putting off his comeback due to Taylor.
"When I heard he was doing the punditry, I thought put me off for a couple more years until he retires fully. I'm used to him slagging me off anyway when I'm playing darts so you know nothing will change there."

After being told by Taylor about Chris Dobey being a potential World Champion, Lewis said it wouldn't shock him either and added Stephen Bunting's name into the hat.
"It wouldn't surprise me. He's got a cracking attitude on him, he's very consistent. Why not. I think the two Luke's are going to take some stopping mind but anybody outside of that, even Bunting has got a fantastic chance as well."
