Conan Whitehead delivered a moment of sheer brilliance on Thursday during the fourth day of the MODUS Super Series, producing a flawless nine-dart leg in his clash with James Richardson.
‘The Barbarian’ had already edged ahead 1-0 when the fireworks began. Richardson opened the second leg and looked poised himself, starting with six perfect darts and leaving 96 after nine. But he never got a shot at the finish. Whitehead responded in kind, hammering in back-to-back 180s to match Richardson’s blistering start. Then, with 141 remaining, the Englishman seized the moment: treble 20, treble 19, double 12 — bang. A textbook nine-darter, executed under pressure and in style.
