There are some truly tasty ties in the first round of the PDC World Grand Prix.

The draw was conducted on Tuesday morning, with play at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin commencing on September 30. Defending champion Daryl Gurney kicks off his Grand Prix campaign with a repeat of his 2017 final draw. The Northern Irishman will meet John Henderson, who stunned Michael van Gerwen in last year's first round. The PDC world number one begins his 2018 campaign against Steve Lennon, who he beat earlier this season to win the Dutch Darts Masters.
The stand-out tie of the first round sees Michael Smith clash with two-time world champion Adrian Lewis. Mensur Suljovic meets James Wade in another tasty-looking clash. There are nine debutants at the Grand Prix this year. One of them, Ricky Evans, will start his title tilt against veteran campaigner Raymond van Barneveld.
Second seed Peter Wright plays Steve West, while Rob Cross and Gary Anderson were drawn against Steve Beaton and Jonny Clayton respectively. Meanwhile, International Darts Open champion Gerwyn Price faces another debutant in the shape of Danny Noppert.
