Alcinas after moving through with ease against Ross: “I’m happy to win this first match”

Toni Alcinas moved through with ease in what was a straight sets win over Craig Ross to begin his campaign at the Alexandra Palace.
Alcinas will next face off against Peter Wright. In his post match interview he admitted he is now focused as he prepares to take on ‘Snakebite’.
“I am happy to win this first match now I am focused for tomorrow (Sunday evening). I play one of the best players in the world in Peter Wright,” said Alcinas.
The Spaniard also said he wants to play better in his clash with Wright. “I want to play the same and a little more tomorrow (Sunday evening) and enjoy it here in the Alexandra Palace,” he added.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
