Toni Alcinas moved into the last sixteen of the
PDC World Darts Championship, as the Spaniard defeated
Kevin Munch 4-1 in sets in the second round.
In what was an open tie, much was expected from the German after he defeated Adrian Lewis in the first round. But Munch failed to deliver on that game whilst a much improved Alcinas from six months ago continued his good run of form.
Alcinas was in control from the beginning of the game. With two 15-darters and an 11-darter, the first set went to the Spanish qualifier. Alcinas also helped himself to the second set.
Munch got on the board winning the third set, but that was as good as it got. Alcinas won set four for a 3-1 lead, before rounding off the match in the fifth. Alcinas will return to the Pally for his clash against Webster on Thursday afternoon.
