Anderson in buoyant mood ahead of returning home: ‘I want to win in Scotland’

Gary Anderson will face Michael van Gerwen tonight in the final week of the Premier League before the play-offs. It is in Aberdeen so he will be returning home for the second time in this years Premier League.
Despite by his own admission, Anderson thinks that Van Gerwen is a tough opponent he wants to do enough to get to the O2 next week. He wants to win in his home country and wants to harness his decent record in Aberdeen to get over the line tonight. “Obviously Michael will be a tough opponent,” said The Flying Scotsman who is a previous two time Premier League winner "I've just got to make sure I do enough to get to The O2 without any dramas. "It's all about producing at the right times now, I want to win in Scotland and I love coming home. It's always very special and I've got a decent record in Aberdeen. "I really don't care where I finish in the top four and who I face at The O2. All I'm fussed about is playing my best game when I get there."

- Is this the start of an attempt to say that he (Littler) is the best ever as he has won most money. Perhaps adjust all prize money earned by allowing for inflation. If Littler gets close too (does not even have to overtake) both MVG’s and Taylor’s Major titles total then he is in the conversation. Indicates to me that the prize money is skewed to much towards the top players, meritocracy must rule but a fair distribution of the money is needed otherwise its only ever about a select few.Mysstree09-01-2025

- It is shocking and unbelievable that 2 Hotty who was always such a decent player, 2 time World Champion and won the Grand Slam when it meant something. He really should have joined the PDC earlier. He has just disappeared off the radar. Such a shame when one of your favourite players just dissappears. I guess he is concentrating on the carpentry. I made a sign at Lakeside which must have been the biggest ever. It said we're potty for 2 Hotty, each word was on its own flip chart sheet of paper and gaffer taped together.
