Of course of the seeded players in this PDC European Tour event, he is seeded first. The rest of the seeds remain unchanged from last time out in Sindelfingen. Darren Webster is the final seed and potentially on course for another meeting with Van Gerwen.
There will be 4 Host Nation qualifiers still to be decided with the likes of Jermaine Wattimena, Dirk van Duijvenbode etc potentially finding their route to the Dutch Darts Masters.
As usual the UK Qualifier has a lot of big names coming out the qualifiers. It is not known whether Adrian Lewis will take his place in the lineup after being a late withdrawal last time out.
James Wade though will aim to better his run to the final last week by becoming the second unseeded player of the year to win a Euro Tour title, after Max Hopp in Saarbrucken earlier this year.
Two intriguing players will make their debuts. Adam Huckvale who won a first Challenge Tour event last weekend, and Ryan Joyce who has massively impressed on the Players Championship series this year.
