Anderson, Nicholson and Thornton among UK qualifiers for Dutch Darts Championship

The Dutch Darts Championship takes place this weekend in Maastricht with a short time between the qualifiers and play itself but the likes of Paul Nicholson, Robert Thornton and Kyle Anderson were among the qualifiers.
They were joined by Hildesheim finalist James Wilson, Ross Smith, Arron Monk and Josh Payne. As well as that it’s a European Tour return for Dawson Murschell at the Dutch Darts Championship.
Barrie Bates and Kevin Painter make welcome appearances. The likes of Devon Petersen, Steve Beaton and Terry Jenkins missed out at the final hurdle.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
