Noppert set for seeding as Players Championship returns in Barnsley

The Players Championship returns for a double header over the next two days at the Barnsley Metrodome with a European Tour this weekend.
There is a lot of darts going on at the moment but with World Grand Prix places not all confirmed it is an important period. Danny Noppert is one of those going through an important period with him and a fellow seed Ron Meulenkamp holding on to a place in the tournament. They are both seeded at Players Championship 17 and have a chance to add money to their ranking in the next two days.
Michael van Gerwen and Mensur Suljovic have not entered both Pro Tour events in Barnsley. Jeffrey de Zwaan is only playing on Wednesday. This means Peter Wright, who missed Hildesheim, will be the number one seed with Rob Cross second and Michael Smith third.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
