There will be a new name on the Grand Slam Trophy later tonight with Gary Anderson seeing off Michael van Gerwen in the second semi-final.

Anderson has claimed four televised events already this year and will look to add the Grand Slam of Darts to his name.
The game started off quite evenly matched with it being 3-2 to Van Gerwen at the first break. In the next break it was Anderson’s turn to lead with the Flying Scotsman 8-7 up.
The Scotsman then broke to make it 9-7 in what was crucial for the Scotsman. Then it became 11-9 with Van Gerwen coming back to within two.
He further came back with it poised at 11-11 including a brilliant 180 from MVG followed by a 180 from Anderson but this was all in vein as Van Gerwen smashed in a 124 checkout.
Mighty Mike couldn’t continue that march though with Anderson going to within one at 15-11 at that point. The world number one clinched another leg but Anderson completed the win to set up a final with Gerwyn Price.
Anderson hit five ton plus checkouts along the way with a 102 average. MVG on the other hand wasn’t up to his usual high standards in the end averaging only 99.
