He spoke to Live Darts afterwards and admitted he did it for the people of Asia who he knew were cheering him on.
“There were a lot of people cheering from Asia so I thought about them and I had to win for them” said Asada.
On what he thought when he first saw that he was facing off against Ratajski and the draw he said that he didn’t like the draw as he’d just beaten an in form player in Gerwyn Price.
“He had just beaten Gerwyn Price so I didn’t really like the draw.” Asada continued.
Finally on if the loss to World Champion, Rob Cross last year and what it brought to the table against Ratajski he said the experience playing him definitely helped.
“The experience I got from playing Rob Cross helped me today (Tuesday).”
