Lisa Ashton has announced her intention to play in the PDC World Championship joining the likes of Lorraine Winstanley and Fallon Sherrock in the process.
’The Lancashire Rose’ will be bringing two more Ashton’s with her though in the form of her daughters, Danielle and Lindsey.
Ahead of the qualifier, the current World Champion admitted it is a fantastic opportunity; but is hoping one of her daughters doesn’t beat her.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to help boost the Ladies game” said Lisa to Red Dragon Darts.
“I can’t wait for the 25th November to arrive, and to be playing in the qualifiers with my two daughters will be great, I just hope one of them doesn’t beat me!”
Ashton also spoke about defending her Lakeside title; something she is now able to do due to restrictions being lifted. The Bolton ace believes the potential experience of Ally Pally would stand her in good stead.
“The BDO have given their blessing for all the Ladies to take part in these qualifiers and we are determined to take this opportunity to raise the profile of the Ladies game” stated the four-time Ladies World Champion.
“The experience of taking part at Ally Pally would certainly put me in fantastic position to pick up a fifth title at Lakeside in January.”
