Max Hopp stunned a series of top players to take the German Darts Open crown. He won't have a partisan crowd backing him this time, but the Maximiser is at maximum confidence. The first German to take to the Graz stage, however, is Kevin Munch. He hasn't been in the limelight since dumping Adrian Lewis out of the World Championship, but he has the chance to shine now. His opponent is Luke Humphries, who has done some giant-killing of his own this year. Ronny Huybrechts and Steve West, two of the session's more senior pros, meet in the second game. Richie Burnett returns to European action at the Austrian Darts Open. He meets one of the home nation qualifiers, debutant Alex Steinbauer. Cameron Menzies brings his brand of entertaining darts back to the fore for his meeting with Adam Hunt.
Following that is a special moment for Hannes Schnier, who returns to
European Tour action for the first time since the inaugural European Championship in 2008. He takes on James Wade, who might fancy his chances with Michael van Gerwen absent. Peter Wright, the new top seed, awaits the winner. Dimitri van den Bergh has struggled recently on the stage, but he has a chance to redeem himself against Simon Stevenson. Then it's time for Hopp, who plays Stephen Burton. The final tie of the night features the final home nation qualifier, Bastian Pietschnig. The Austrian meets Iberian ace Cristo Reyes.
The action is live on
PDC TV, and kicks off at 6.15pm.
