Beaton spoke afterwards and admitted it was a special moment and shows that he has still got the game. "It was a special moment to hit a nine-darter on the European Tour," said Beaton. "I didn't think about it too much, I just threw! All I was thinking about was winning the game to make up for my first round loss last week. "It shows I've still got it. I love the game and I always say I'm being paid to do something I enjoy. As long as I can keep doing it I will keep playing."
