Fans attending the 2018 PDC Champions League Darts will be desperate for a nine-darter.
Perfect legs tend to be pretty popular at any time. But Champions League sponsors Paddy Power have a special prize in mind for the PDC's newest televised event.
Should a player hit a nine-darter at the event in Brighton, a £50,000 prize will be awarded. In an unusual twist, the £50,000 will go to the crowd, shared out evenly among every ticket holder. The initiative is part of Paddy Power's marketing campaign for the Champions League. For a darts tournament, it's pretty unprecedented stuff.

Eight of the world's best players meet this weekend in Brighton. They'll be looking to claim the title won by Mensur Suljovic in 2017. Whether or not they bag a cool £50,000 for the crowd remains to be seen.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I blame the PDC to a certain extent though doubt they really care as they win regardless of which player wins or loses.Mysstree16-11-2024

I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
