Michael van Gerwen defeated Christian Kist 3-1 in sets but it was by no means easy for the World Number 1 with Kist playing brilliantly. 'Mighty Mike' will play 'Lethal Biscuit' James Wilson in Round 2 after a pretty resounding win for the World Number One.
He started his first set and defeated Kist without a loss of a leg with Christian though playing well and missing the bull for two ton plus outshots that could of changed the landscape of the set or even the match and for the most part 'The Lipstick' averaged over a 100 and even at some points above Van Gerwen. In Set 2 this was the case with Van Gerwen winning it 3-1 but it wasn't easy at all with the former BDO champion playing well.
In Set 3, Christian Kist played superbly and got a set on the board winning 3-1 but Kist went into protective mode in the next set allowing Van Gerwen to brush him 3-0 and move through to the next round.
