Corey Cadby is back in the big time, and the young Aussie is setting his sights high.
The King finally needed to compete in the UK. After a long struggle to secure his Three-Year Tier Two Sportsman's Visa, Cadby is now cleared to compete in the UK. He has a lot of lost time to make up for. And speaking to , he revealed his relief at making it through a long corridor of uncertainty. It's absolutely brilliant to be back. It's been a long time coming, but I'm here," he said. "Good things come to people who wait. "It was an absolute nightmare, knowing that I should be in these tournaments and watching some games that weren't top quality. "Then it was not knowing whether my career was going to continue or whether I had to get a day job, which was actually very scary. "I always hung on to that little bit of hope that it was going to come through and thank god it did."
Big aims
In a candid interview, Cadby explained that he was within an inch of giving up darts entirely. But now he's back, the ever-confident 24-year-old has set his sights high. He has already become world youth champion, won a UK Open Qualifier and then reached the final of the UK Open. There's more to come, he claims. And he is determined to do it sooner rather than later. "I'm going to start where I left off, most definitely. "I'll be coming straight in, within three weeks I know I'm going to be taking a tournament or popping in a nine-darter," he asserted. "I know I'm going to make it [to the World Matchplay] and I'd be disappointed in myself if I don't. "I have no idea what I need but I'll make sure I'm there. "I've been at Ally Pally once and you want to be there every year. "Now knowing that I'm back on the circuit, I will be there and I don't have to qualify through Australia or what not. "I'm really looking forward to that."
