Joe Cullen just loves to silence the doubters as he was put as the underdog for his match against Bradley Brooks at the
PDC World Darts Championship but despite winning through, he is unlikely to see some of that money.
Cullen hilariously swore on air during his
post match interview where he mimicked
Abigail Davies, the Sky Sports presenter and commentator's Welsh accent and swore while doing so. Before he awaited a likely DRA reprimand in the form of a fine by addressing the fact he likely would for the incident at the
PDC World Darts Championship. But the elation was for good reason as he averaged 99.33, his second highest ever on the Ally Pally stage and three five 180's with a checkout success of 50% in a 'cracking' swearing aside display. “Cracking, love, f****** cracking,” Cullen replied in a Welsh accent when asked about the display. Davies apologised straight away for his language and Cullen realised. “That’s a fine, I’m sorry, I’ll pay it now!”
It also harks back to last year where he famously silenced doubters by beating the highly fancied Wessel Nijman and stormed out of his press conference.
"The media attention that Wessel has got - again, this is not a reflection on him - he seems like a fantastic kid. The way I've been treated with the media and things like that…" he said at the time.
"I know you guys have no control of the bookies, but I've been shown no respect so I won't share any respect to any of you guys tonight. I'm going to go home. Cheers."
