Cross, Anderson and Goldie withdraw from this weekend's Pro Tour events

This weekend will see the next double header of Players Championship action but three more players will not be involved.
Rob Cross, Gary Anderson and John Goldie have decided to withdraw from this weekend’s events. Cross has been in imperious form as of late; but with a hectic schedule including multiple European Tours to come, he will likely be taking the weekend off for that reason. Anderson is still not back to 100 percent and has been battling with tennis elbow; it was revealed this week. The only other player not involved is Mensur Suljovic meaning a return for Michael van Gerwen after a few ProTour weekends off. Cross, Anderson and Goldie will be replaced by Shaun Carroll, Boris Koltsov and Stephen Burton.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
