Cross ends Smith's unbeaten run

Michael van Gerwen is back to the top of the Premier League after Rob Cross defeated Michael Smith.
Bullyboy was yet to lose a game heading into tonight's encounter with Cross, a rematch of the epic world championship match just 3 months ago. The match had all the makings of a repeat after the pair started strongly.
Smith had darts to win all five of the first legs, but was only able to hit the finish three times.. The pair were matching there 103 averages from the worlds in the early stages, but both dropped off significantly.
World Champion Cross dropped as low as 88 at one point of the encounter. However Smith failed to capitalise on the drop of form, and let a 5-3 lead slip, to lose the match 7-5. Voltage throwing an 11 and a 12 darter to see the night off, finishing 121 on the bull for the match.
