Cross won through with a 10-7 victory with a 95 average. Alongside that, he hit five 180’s and 58 percent on the doubles as he upped his level from his match against Reyes. Cross began the match quite well doubling his lead early doors with an early break. Payne replied in kind by pegging it back to 2-2 in the early going. It was Cross though who reached the first break in the lead with ‘Voltage’ 3-2 up. It was close from there until the former World Champion edged back in front and from there he stretched his lead to 8-4. Payne came back and added some late pressure but it proved to be too large of a mountain to climb. This meant that Cross will continue his march to potentially a first title in Minehead. for more information about the UK Open including the schedule, prize fund breakdown, TV coverage and format.
