Despite injury, Michael Smith has continued his run at the UK Open in Minehead by moving through to the Semi-Finals.

Smith played quite brilliantly in a 10-1 victory over Steve Beaton ending a brilliant weekend for the ‘Bronzed Adonis’. He averaged 101, hit four 180’s and hit 67 percent of his doubles on his way to a big win.
Smith stormed to 5-0 at the first interval with a 104 average and 80 percent on the doubles. This meant that Beaton had little chance to really peg him back in that form.
He only got off the mark when he was six-nil down but couldn’t kick on from there. Despite the aforementioned victory for Smith, he looks like he could be the man to beat this weekend.
