Cross became the surprising winner last year during his debut at the World Championship. This year, 'Voltage'
went out in the fourth round after losing to Luke Humphries as he failed to retain his world title.
The day has come to hand over the Sid Waddell Trophy'', Cross put on his Twitter. ''I don't really want to, but it's going to a class player.''
The 28-year-old from Hastings, who beat Phil Taylor in the World Championship final last year, wishes good luck to both finalists. ''Good luck to both the Michaels, you both deserve it.''
The world number two ended his tweet with a wink. According to Cross, the Sid Waddell Trophy will be his property again soon. ''I’ll be getting it back soon'', he added.
