Derry produces brilliance to smash Beaton, Bunting excellent in repeat of Lakeside final against Norris

The first three ties of the evening session at the German Darts Grand Prix are complete with Nathan Derry, Stephen Bunting and Krzysztof Ratajski through.

Derry started off proceedings with an excellent performance to smash Steve Beaton 6-1. Six 180’s in seven legs from the player now known as ‘Slingshot’ put him well on his way to victory. Bunting made sure that Alan Norris didn’t have a welcome return to Euro Tour action routing him 6-1. He did so with a 121 checkout with a 99.7 average and 60 percent on the doubles. It was a repeat of their Lakeside final but it wasn’t revenge for ‘Chuck’. Ratajski made sure there was no joy for Home hope Martin Schindler with a 6-2 win over ‘The Wall’.
