Dolan into first round match up with Thornton

Brendan Dolan will face Robert Thornton later this afternoon after overcoming Alan Ljubic in the preliminary round.
The History Maker, has had a tough year by his standards, and qualified through the PDPA qualifiers after dropping out the top 32.
But the Northern Irishman is relishing his second chance at the worlds this year, and comfortably defeated Croatian Ljubic on the Ally Pally stage. Dropping just 1 leg on the way to victory
SET 1
Dolan opened the encounter with a 12 dart leg against the throw to take the lead before Ljubic broke back with a 14 darter of his own. 2 missed darts at a double in leg 3 from Dolan, but he still managed to take the 3rd leg, once again against the throw. The 4th leg was scrappy, Dolan hit his second 180 of the match, but couldn't find the power scoring at the back end of the leg, he still managed to limp over the line though, finally securing the set in 21 darts.
SET 2
Dolan continued his dominance in this one, securing all 3 require legs without reply. Legs of 17,15 and 15 rounding this one of nicely.
AS mentioned previously, Brendan will now face off against Robert Thornton in the final match of this session.
