Robert Thornton is getting back close to his best after a spell in the darting doldrums since his Premier League debut where he was ranked towards the higher echelons of the
PDC. 'The Thorn' has shown his dip in form by being ranked towards the top 32 as opposed to the top 10 previously but his fight and determination after Dolan took out numerous high finishes shows he could be back there sooner than we think.
He spoke after his win and sent a message that people shouldn't write him off and that he has nothing to lose.
"Don't write me off," warned Thornton, the former UK Open and World Grand Prix champion. "I might be number 27 or 28 now but don't write me off, I'm not defending anything this week so I've got nothing to lose.
"The more rounds I win, the more I'll believe and the harder I'll be to beat."
