Draw & Schedule made for 2019 German Darts Grand Prix: Durrant faces Hughes in tasty first round clash

The draw for the 2019 German Darts Grand Prix has been made on Friday afternoon. The event will kick off on Saturday afternoon in Munich, marking the third event of the PDC European Tour 2019.
The seeded players as usual will enter proceedings on the second day of action at the German Darts Grand Prix, which will be on Easter Sunday. These include the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Daryl Gurney.
Stand out ties of the first round include Jamie Hughes and Glen Durrant squaring off. Two of the best in the BDO before switching alongside Scott Baker they have made a big impact already on the tour. Durrant has won his first title while Hughes has been mightily unlucky after hitting some stunning averages.
Gabriel Clemens and Ricky Evans will also face off with both players also enjoying brilliant starts to 2019. As well, Martin Schindler is bound to get a brilliant reception in front of his home crowd but starts off with a tough test against Krzysztof Ratajski.

- Is this the start of an attempt to say that he (Littler) is the best ever as he has won most money. Perhaps adjust all prize money earned by allowing for inflation. If Littler gets close too (does not even have to overtake) both MVG’s and Taylor’s Major titles total then he is in the conversation. - It is shocking and unbelievable that 2 Hotty who was always such a decent player, 2 time World Champion and won the Grand Slam when it meant something. He really should have joined the PDC earlier. He has just disappeared off the radar. Such a shame when one of your favourite players just dissappears. I guess he is concentrating on the carpentry. - One mistake is often followed by another, and the PDC have compounded their unimaginative PL picks with a doppelganger cast for the World Series. What an opportunity missed. It hurts the overburdened eight, it hurts the overlooked, it hurts the fans. Who gains? No one I can think of, not even the PDC shareholders.

It is quite pathetic and desperate the way Bunting and Arsepinall pander to the crowd to dance to their walk on music, that has worked though. I would like to see more players involved on a weekly basis similar to the Modus Super Series. A knockout tournament with 16 winners from each week.
