Dutch debutant duo De Zwaan and Meulenkamp complete first round victories at World Grand Prix

Jeffrey de Zwaan and Ron Meulenkamp are the first two players through at the World Grand Prix with the Dutch debutant duo seeing off Kim Huybrechts and Joe Cullen respectively.

De Zwaan started proceedings off easing into the second round with a 2-0 sets win over Huybrechts. ‘The Black Cobra’ started the first set with a blistering start smashing through it 3-1 with four 180’s and a 92 average.
Huybrechts claimed a leg in the following set but a 14 darter put the Dutchman one away and he converted to move through. Overall stats wise he hit a 99.3 average with 50% on the doubles throughout.
Meulenkamp next started off against Cullen with a strong start smashing in a 130 checkout before taking a clean sweep of the set. Cullen though himself roared back to complete a clean sweep of his own in order to force a deciding set.
‘The Rockstar’ pinned D8 to start the deciding set to stake his claim but 3 straight legs from ‘The Bomb’ claimed him the contest.
