It has been twelve months since the PDC decided to axe darts walk on girls Daniella Harper and Charlotte Wood from their job. The two popular British ladies were the two girls who walked with the players to the stage during the TV events in the United Kingdom.

The big British TV channels did not want to show the darts walk-on girls anymore and the PDC decided to remove Daniella and Charlotte from the payroll. European walk-on girls were still used on the PDC European Tour circuit, until this year.
Ashley Zaat, who appeared as a Dutch walk-on girl during the 2018 World Championship, said on her Instagram that PDC Europe has joined the decision from the PDC.
''Tomorrow [Saturday] will be my last tournament for now as a walk-on girl on TV for PDC Europe. Not because I dont want it anymore, but because darts walk on girls are not longer allowed in darts.''
''The reason why doesn't make any sense. But just as the PDC stopped last year with the ladies, PDC Europe is joining them. I have greatly enjoyed the work and will certainly take it as an experience with me in the future.''

One final tournament

Ashley will work on Saturday during an exhibition event in Cologne. This event, with Michael van Gerwen, Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld amongst the line-up, is broadcasted on the German channel ProSieben.
