Ted Evetts booked his first ever win at the PDC World Darts Championship as he brushed aside Simon Stevenson 3-0. The English youngster felt relief, he told Live Darts.

‘I’m absolutely over the moon. Simon is a solid player so in my head I was thinking: just take every shot you get and you’re going to win’.
‘SuperTed’ lost out to Gerwyn Price 3-0 at last year’s edition of the World Championship, and stated getting a first set on the board meant a lot to him.
‘Compared to last year, it was a bit of a jumper winning the first set. I was thinking: finally I’ve won one. From there on I had to focus, keep calm, don’t get too excited and punish every dart1 that you can.’
The Englishman averaged 92.97 in his 3-0 triumph, and now faces Adrian Lewis in round two. Evetts is confident he can trouble the two-time world champion.
‘I think I can definitely improve my average in the next match. If I do, Adrian will have to work very hard.’
