Gary Anderson has been named second favourite to win the 2019 UK Open - despite not playing a single competitive match in 2019.

The reigning UK Open champion returns from injury to compete in Minehead this weekend. A chronic back problem ruled Anderson out of the Masters and the Premier League. But tournament sponsors Ladbrokes have the PDC world number four at 8/1 to retain the title.
It is no surprise that Michael van Gerwen is the bookies' favourite. Mighty Mike is at 5/6 odds, a reflection of his current dominance in the game. Michael Smith and Rob Cross are at 10/1 and 12/1 respectively.
Peter Wright and Mensur Suljovic follow close behind. Gerwyn Price, currently enjoying the form of his life, is at 22/1.

Outside bets

Glen Durrant is named at 25/1 by Ladbrokes - the PDC major debutant has the same odds as Adrian Lewis and Dave Chisnall.
The UK Open is known as the 'FA Cup of Darts'; its open draw and quick-fire format allows for plenty of surprises.
David Pallett and Robert Owen made the semi-finals last year - they are at 500/1 and 750/1 respectively to go all the way.
2018 UK Open runner-up Corey Cadby does not feature.
For those who fancy a long shot, Brian Raman, Darren Beveridge, Ian McFarlane, John Davey, Kevin Thoburn and Lloyd Browning are 2500/1 long shots.
