Gurney through to semi-finals and will face Van Gerwen who returns to clinical form

We have our final two semi-finalists in Zwolle at the Dutch Darts Masters in the form of Daryl Gurney and Michael van Gerwen who will now face each other after coming through in clinical displays.
'Superchin' came through in a 6-2 win against the in form Stephen Bunting with 66% on the doubles, a part of his game which was his downfall but he has seemingly worked on.
It was a 93 average as well for Gurney who hit 1 maximum in all. He will need to improve it though for his next opponent, Michael van Gerwen.
After having quite a poor tournament by his own high standards, 'Mighty Mike' roared back to life smashing Kyle Anderson 6-2 with a 102 average. 3 180's as well as punishing 25% on doubles from Anderson gave the World Number One an important win in his quest for glory in Zwolle.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
