MASTERS RD1 VBARNEVELD12

Raymond van Barneveld put in a superb performance to knock Peter Wright out of the Masters.

The Dutchman averaged 103 and fired in three ton-plus checkouts in a 10-2 thrashing of the second seed. He will now play Mensur Suljovic for a place in the final. Van Barneveld spoke afterwards about his form and chances this evening.
"That's the sort of game I can play" the five-time world champion said. "I was 5-0, up, 8-2...happy days! But focus, because Peter Wright is a very good player."
Barney is now in with an excellent chance of taking his first Masters title. He added: "I said to myself, don't play the opponent. They're the top 16 in the world.''
''Just play what you can do. Focus on your own thing. If it's Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson, Rob Cross...it doesn't matter. If you play like this, you always have chances."
