The opening ties at the German Darts Open are complete with Jamie Hughes, Mickey Mansell and James Richardson making it through to the second day of action.

Richardson started off proceedings and produced an excellent performance despite him not being at his best to start the year. He edged out ‘The Wanderer’ Wayne Jones 6-5 averaging 98 in the process as he looks to put a run together in Saarbrucken.
Mansell similarly produced a good performance against Steve West who changed his equipment mid-match but still couldn’t find a way past the Clonoe Cyclone. He averaged 94 and hit three 180’s in a good start for the former PDC title winner.
Jamie Hughes finally has been impressive all year but hasn’t got the rub of the green on many occasions. He showed how good he is once again as he edged out Brendan Dolan 6-4.
Dolan played well also averaging 105 with Hughes at the 100 mark. ‘Yozza’ though closed it out with a 122 checkout and he could be a serious danger this weekend.
