Hughes reaches maiden European Tour Quarter-Final, Wright edges past Clayton and Van Gerwen smashes Richardson

Jamie Hughes, Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen are the final players through to the Quarter-Finals at the European Darts Grand Prix with victories over Mark McGeeney, Jonny Clayton and James Richardson respectively.

Hughes edged out McGeeney firstly to reach his first European Tour Quarter-Final. He averaged 91 and hit six 180's en route to a brilliant victory. Wright put in his best performance on the European Tour for some time smashing in a 104 average to defeat Jonny Clayton 6-4. 'Snakebite' hit eight 180's en route as he aims to put himself into contention for the crown later tonight. Van Gerwen finally continued his rampant run with a 6-1 win where he once again only averaged 100. He also hit four 180's as he aims for yet another European Tour title and assert his dominance.
